What’s Included?

Membership at MadeBy Pottery Studio includes independent studio access for personal projects without direct supervision. Members are given their own entry access to the studio during designated operational hours, allowing them to work on their own schedule.

Members have access to shared studio equipment and tools necessary for wheel throwing and handbuilding, as well as designated workspace for ongoing projects.

Membership also includes the use of studio-provided clay and glazes for work created on-site.

What’s Required?

To be eligible for membership studio access, students must first complete three sessions of MadeBy Pottery’s Adult Wheel Throwing Course.

Before membership is granted, students will be asked to complete a skills check to ensure they have a working knowledge of:

  • Studio safety

  • Proper use of equipment

  • Clay and glaze handling

  • Cleaning procedures

This ensures all members can work independently while maintaining a safe and respectful studio environment.

What’s Expected?

Members are expected to:

  • Clean up after themselves at the end of every session, including wheels, tools, tables, and sinks.

  • Respect shared tools, materials, and other members’ work.

  • Follow all studio guidelines for clay, glazes, and firings.

Members may not attend classes or workshops during their studio access time unless prior communication and approval has been given by MadeBy staff.

Studio materials and work must remain on-site at all times:

  • Members may not take clay or glaze home.

  • Members may not take projects off-site at any stage of the process.

MadeBy cannot be responsible for materials that leave the studio, as outside substances or contamination can damage shared equipment, kilns, and glazes.

This membership is designed for independent practice. Members should feel confident working on their own without supervision.
