Policies and Studio Guidelines
MadeBy Pottery Studio
Terms, Conditions & Studio Policies**
By purchasing or attending any class, workshop, event, membership, or practice session at MadeBy Pottery Studio, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following policies.
1. Final Sale & Refund Policy
No Refunds
Once the first class or event session has taken place, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
Final Sale
All bookings are final. We do not offer:
Refunds
Same-day reschedules
Booking modifications
Once your purchase is complete, it is considered final.
2. Minimum Enrollment
Classes may be canceled if fewer than three (3) participants are registered.
If this occurs, you will be contacted and offered either:
A transfer to another class, or
A full refund.
3. Age Requirements
General Events, Classes & Workshops
Participants must be 13 years or older.
Participants under 16 must attend with a parent or legal guardian, and a separate ticket is required for the supervising adult.
Homeschool Classes
Designed for youth ages 10+.
Parents are not required to stay
Family-Friendly Events
Certain sessions will be clearly labeled as family-friendly and are open to younger children.
These require close adult supervision at all times.
4. Attendance & Substitution Policy
The person registered must be the one who attends.
No participant substitutions or transfers are allowed once the first class session has begun.
5. Reschedule Requests
If you cannot attend your scheduled class or event:
You must notify us at least 48 hours (2 full days) before the start time to transfer your booking.
Requests made:
The day before
The day of
Or after the class has started
will not be honored for reschedule, credit, or refund.
6. Gift Card & Certificate Policy
Gift cards purchased before December 1, 2025 are no longer valid due to a system transition.
All current MadeBy gift certificates:
Are valid for 12 months from purchase
Must be redeemed within that timeframe.
7. Pottery Outcomes Disclaimer
Pottery is a process-based art that takes time and practice.
Cracks, warping, glaze flaws, and breakage may occur due to:
Natural clay movement
Firing conditions
Material limitations
User technique
These outcomes are a normal part of ceramics.
MadeBy is not responsible for damaged, cracked, or imperfect work, and no refunds will be issued for finished pieces.
Our goal is to support your learning, creativity, and confidence — each piece is a step forward.
8. Glazing & Pickup Policies
Glazing Window
You have 4 weeks from the date your piece is created to return and glaze it.
After 4 weeks:
Your piece will be assumed abandoned
It will be recycled or discarded
We do not send personal reminders. Social media updates may be posted, but it is your responsibility to return within the time window.
Unclaimed Glazed Work
Glazed pieces not picked up within 4 weeks will be disposed of unless prior arrangements have been approved.
9. Firing Policy
We do not fire outside work.
Only clay and glazes from MadeBy may be fired in our kilns.
Kilns are fired depending on volume.
We do not fire single pieces on demand.
Deadline requests must be discussed directly with Sienna in advance (not guaranteed).
All work must be clearly marked with initials or a symbol.
Unmarked pieces will not be fired.
10. Practice Session Policy
Practice sessions are 3 hours long and must be purchased prior to arrival
Practice time cannot roll over
Unused time is forfeited
11. Studio Hours & Communication
Studio hours: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM, Tuesday-Sunday for members and students
Pickup times are posted on social media
Messages and calls are returned within 24–48 hours
12. Materials Must Remain On-Site
To protect our kilns, glazes, and equipment:
Clay and glaze may not be taken home
Projects may not leave the studio at any stage
Outside materials may contaminate our equipment and cause damage
13. Clay Scraps & Recycling
The clay scraps bin is located by the front door.
Please:
Remove clay from plaster before leaving
Place all scraps in the bin
This helps us recycle clay and keep weekend sessions stocked.
14. Studio Etiquette
Turn your wheel off when finished
Keep tables powered on
Follow posted reminder signs
Clean up spills and clay using the large green sponges
Let’s leave the studio cleaner than we found it.
15. Personal Items & Tools
You may bring personal tools
Studio shelves are for pottery only
Please take personal items home after each session
16. Personal Belongings
MadeBy is not responsible for lost, stolen, or forgotten items.
By attending or booking with MadeBy Pottery, you agree to all policies listed above.
