Glazing Day

It’s time to glaze your pottery! If you participated in our prior month’s Tuesday Morning Wheel Throwing Class, your pieces are now bisque fired and ready for their final glaze.

Please plan to come in and glaze during your scheduled session. Glazing must be completed within 4 weeks of your last class—after that, unglazed pieces will be discarded to make room for new work.

If you need to schedule a separate time to glaze, please reach out to us in advance. We’re excited to see your finished creations come to life!

4-Week Pottery Course

Tuesday 10am-1pm

Our 4-week beginner pottery course is designed to introduce you to the full process of creating handmade ceramic pieces from start to finish. During the first four weeks, you’ll learn how to throw pottery on the wheel and shape functional or sculptural forms with guided, step-by-step instruction. You’ll explore centering clay, pulling walls, trimming, attaching handles, and more while creating pieces that reflect your personal style.

After your pieces are finished and bisque fired (usually 2–3 weeks after your final class), you’ll return to glaze them. Glazing sessions are included as part of your course and can be completed during our designated glazing times. Students will receive a glazing demonstration to ensure they feel confident choosing colors and applying glazes properly.

This schedule allows you to fully focus on making during class, and then return later with fresh eyes to complete your work. Every student leaves with finished, fired pottery that is food-safe, functional, and uniquely theirs.

No experience necessary. Come learn, play, and make something beautiful.

Homeschool Clay Class

Friday 11pm-1pm

A hands-on, creative pottery class designed just for homeschool students ages 10 and up! Over 4 weeks, students explore clay techniques while building confidence, creativity, and community in a supportive studio environment.

What We’ll Learn:
• Clay fundamentals: wedging, handbuilding, shaping forms
• Creative techniques: sculpting, texture, carving, and surface design
• Glazing: applying color and finishes to bisque-fired pieces
• Studio care: respecting tools, space, and shared materials
• Intro to wheel throwing when students are ready and focused

What’s Included:
✔ Clay, tools, glazes, and firing
✔ Step-by-step instruction and individual guidance
✔ Small-group setting for focused learning
✔ Cleanup and studio responsibility time built in

Class Experience:
• 1.5 hours of guided instruction + 30 minutes cleanup/community time
• Create both functional and sculptural ceramic pieces
• Return to glaze and take home finished work
• Emphasis on exploration and enjoying the process over perfection

Homeschool students ages 10+ interested in hands-on art, creative problem solving, and working with their hands in a calm, welcoming studio environment.
