You’ll work with richly pigmented, rainbow-colored clay—yes, actual colored clay—to shape playful, one-of-a-kind pottery. We’ll explore both handbuilding and wheel throwing techniques in a relaxed and welcoming studio setting. Whether you’re brand new to clay or a seasoned maker, this workshop is about fun, connection, and creative freedom.

Let your child’s creativity run wild with our Little Creators summer clay camp!
This 4-day handbuilding-focused camp teaches young artists to sculpt, pinch, coil, and slab their own imaginative clay creations—from animals and creatures to mugs and mini planters.

Kids will:
🎨 Learn fun, age-appropriate clay techniques
👣 Explore textures, tools, and surface design
🧼 Glaze their very own pieces
🎁 Take home fired, finished pottery 2-3 weeks after completion!

All participants from our June camps (both Little Creators and Wheel Throwing for Teens & Tweens) are invited to show off their favorite pieces during our Summer Clay Camp Art Show on Friday, July 18th. Families and friends are welcome to join us at the studio to celebrate the young artists’ creativity!

Teens Clay Camp (June 23-26)

MadeBy Summer Clay Camp: Wheel Throwing for Teens & Tweens (Ages 11–16)


Cost: $200 (Includes all materials & firing)
Location: MadeBy Pottery Studio, 2805 Main Street, Hurricane, WV

This 4-day wheel-throwing camp is designed for teens and tweens who are ready to learn real pottery skills in a focused, creative studio environment. Whether they’re total beginners or have dabbled in clay before, students will receive hands-on instruction and guidance as they explore the art of throwing on the potter’s wheel.

Campers will:
🌀 Learn how to center, shape, and refine clay on the wheel
🏺 Make functional pottery like bowls, mugs, and vases
✂️ Trim and prepare their pieces for firing
🎨 Glaze their pottery using vibrant, food-safe finishes
🔥 Pick up their completed work 2–3 weeks later

Charcuterie Board Workshop

Join us for an evening of creativity and craftsmanship as we build beautiful, functional charcuterie boards from clay. Using handbuilding techniques, you'll shape and texture your own ceramic board—perfect for summer gatherings, picnics, or wine nights at home.

This adult workshop is beginner-friendly and designed to help you unwind, create, and connect. You'll leave with a finished piece that's as practical as it is personal, ready to be glazed and picked up after firing.

Drinks included, because cheese boards and clay pair well with a little sipping!
