MadeBy Summer Clay Camp: Wheel Throwing for Teens & Tweens (Ages 11–16)


Cost: $200 (Includes all materials & firing)
Location: MadeBy Pottery Studio, 2805 Main Street, Hurricane, WV

This 4-day wheel-throwing camp is designed for teens and tweens who are ready to learn real pottery skills in a focused, creative studio environment. Whether they’re total beginners or have dabbled in clay before, students will receive hands-on instruction and guidance as they explore the art of throwing on the potter’s wheel.

Campers will:
🌀 Learn how to center, shape, and refine clay on the wheel
🏺 Make functional pottery like bowls, mugs, and vases
✂️ Trim and prepare their pieces for firing
🎨 Glaze their pottery using vibrant, food-safe finishes

Create Your Own Dinner Plate Set – Functional, beautiful, handmade.
Design and build your own unique ceramic plate set—just in time for cozy fall dinners or holiday hosting. In this one-day workshop, you’ll learn hand-building techniques to shape and decorate two dinner-sized plates (or swap one for a matching side plate or bowl).

This 4-day wheel-throwing camp is designed for teens and tweens who are ready to learn real pottery skills in a focused, creative studio environment. Whether they’re total beginners or have dabbled in clay before, students will receive hands-on instruction and guidance as they explore the art of throwing on the potter’s wheel.

Campers will:
🌀 Learn how to center, shape, and refine clay on the wheel
