Studio Updates: Helping MadeBy Grow Smoothly
With so many new students joining MadeBy Pottery, we’re so grateful for the growing community that makes this space what it is. As we continue to expand, we’ve made a few updates to help the studio run smoothly, protect shared equipment, and ensure everyone has a positive experience.
These changes are designed to keep the studio accessible, organized, and welcoming for all.
Practice Sessions
To help us manage studio space fairly:
January 15–31
Practice sessions are 3 hours long
Practice time cannot be rolled over to another week
If unused, remaining time is forfeited
Beginning in February
Practice time will no longer be included with the purchase of a class
This allows us to keep class costs lower while ensuring adequate space and availability for students and members
Clay Scraps Bin
The clay scraps bin is now located next to the front door.
Please remember to:
Remove used clay from plaster surfaces before leaving
Place all scraps in the bin so they can be recycled
This helps us keep enough clay available for weekend sessions.
Studio Etiquette Reminders
To help keep the studio safe and functional:
Please turn your wheel off when finished
Keep tables powered on
Follow the reminder signs posted at each table
As always, clean up after yourself and wipe up spills or chunks using the large green sponges. Let’s leave the studio cleaner than we found it.
Personal Items & Tools
You’re welcome to bring personal tools for your work. However:
Studio shelves are for pottery only
Please take all personal items home at the end of your session
This keeps shared areas organized and accessible.
Studio Materials & Work Must Remain On-Site
To protect our shared equipment and glazes:
Clay and glaze may not be taken home
Projects may not leave the studio at any stage
MadeBy cannot be responsible for materials taken off-site, as contamination can damage kilns, glazes, and equipment
These guidelines help us maintain consistency, safety, and quality for everyone.
Thank you for being part of the MadeBy community and for helping us care for this shared creative space. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at hello@madebypottery.com.
