Thursday Evening Class: Week 2

🌀 Hybrid Pottery Class: Wheel Throwing & Handbuilding

Explore clay from every angle.

This hybrid pottery class is perfect for anyone who wants to experience both the potter’s wheel and traditional handbuilding techniques. You'll have the freedom to create functional pottery or sculptural pieces using a variety of approaches, whether you're a total beginner or looking to expand your skills.

In this class, you’ll learn:
• How to throw on the wheel: centering, shaping, trimming
• Handbuilding methods: coiling, slab building, using templates, and slump molds
• Surface design techniques, including texture and pattern tools
• Glazing and finishing to bring your pieces to life

Come with a specific project in mind, or explore instructor-led ideas to help guide your creativity. You'll receive personalized instruction and the flexibility to work at your own pace—whether you're making mugs, planters, vases, or something completely one-of-a-kind.

No experience necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands dirty!Cost: $225 (taxes not included)

Ready to Get Your Hands Dirty?

Pottery is a wonderfully messy art. Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty—clay washes off easily, but we recommend bringing a towel for the ride home to keep your car clean.
